A final report on "Reporting on the Health Challenges of Black Seniors," a one-day program for journalists organized in cooperation with the Resource Centers for Minority Aging Research (RCMAR).

A program funded by a grant from the National Institute on Aging, commenced at the Atheneum Hotel Conference Center in downtown Detroit on September 7, 2005. At this one-day program, academic experts from the RCMAR centers of the University of Michigan and Wayne State University shared their knowledge with print and broadcast journalists. The program encouraged substantive interaction between researchers and reporters who are a critical source of information for the public as a whole. Eight of the nine journalists who attended completed a computerized evaluation via the Internet. This report was based on those evaluations and observations of those conducting the seminar.
